Got me a nice wee little Chinese bamboo plant today. It sits by my window now.

I would love to take up gardening some day and have my own Zen garden.

Well it's mid August and I do have something up and running, it's not much but it's something. Changes will be made as I learn new tricks. myTempSite

learners permit: final chapter
08.12.04 (5:29 pm)   [edit]
Finally, I have it!! Haha, got my permit on the 10th, what a relief...this time they wanted to bloody see all documents of ID, before they wanted nothing in particular and now they ask for everything.

I was asked to have my photo taken again, and when it was finally all over, they get my eye color wrong. There it clearly states in my passport; Eye Color: Black and here they put it as Brown. On informing them of their error, I am politely told that it doesn't matter and, "No one is going to notice" I didn't want to argue further as I was afraid of spending anothe hour waiting in lines.

I got my permit and am glad, look out death here's an easy prey.

the lion in winter
08.08.04 (11:24 am)   [edit]
Last night while my Pappy was channel surfing, he caught this movie running, The Lion In Winter (1968). So it was a real old flick based on actual history of Henry II played by Peter O'Toole and his wife Eleanor played by Katherine Hepburn.

Normally I wouldn't even bothering mentioning such flicks, but my goodness!! This movie is soo marvelously bitter, I couldn't believe my ears. Both my folks n me watched the movie till the end.

In this 12th-century version of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Henry II of England (Peter O'Toole) and his wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine (Katharine Hepburn), meet on Christmas Eve to discuss the future of the throne. These two are having slight marital problems, as she is kept in captivity most of the year for raising a rebellion against him, and he flaunts his young mistress. Then there are the problems raised by their three treacherous and traitorous sons.

James Goldman won an Oscar® for the brilliant screenplay, based on his Broadway play. It is a tad wordy, as the action is kept to a minimum, but those words are sharp as daggers. The humor is wicked and black and delivered with very dry, dead-on precision. Sparks fly and the screen sizzles whenever Hepburn and O'Toole tango, which is often. Both were nominated for Academy Awards® for their vigorous performances. (She won; he didn't.) There's also an infamous homo-erotic exchange between Philip of France (Timothy Dalton) and Richard the Lionhearted (Anthony Hopkins).

learners permit: episode 3
08.05.04 (6:03 pm)   [edit]
Location: DMV [specific location classified]
Time: Around 3pm.

[intro ninja music plays]
This time me and my pappy opted for a different approach. I would pose as an innocent naive student and my pappy would pose as my pappy what else. But this time he would mingle and fade into the background with the common folk, while I would await my turn in line. We maintained communication through secret hand gestures.

The enemy had a strict rule to admit people applying for a learners permit only until 3:30 pm, the clock was ticking, it was already 3:25pm and here I was still waiting in line. Suddenly an agent, whether friend or foe I am unsure, announced a new line would be formed; solely for those applying for permits.

Curses! Somehow my cover has been blown or so I thought...I presented my papers and ID carefully to this female agent, I hadn't seen here before. Time was short and she wanted to hear precise information and nothin more. She motioned for me to stand facing the camera, with my back to a blank screen. I took in a deep breath, I was determined to hold onto my ki, I had heard tales from my elders how a device such as this was rumored to possess the ability to steal people's souls. Truly! The west harbors great dark magicians...

A bright light flashed, momentarily blinding me, I was still alive, I was given a ticket bearing a number and asked to wait for the written exam. I gathered my things and turned around to face my beaming Sensei who was more than pleased to see his disciple had passed his first "Trial of White Light" [camera]. The written test was a breeze, so was the eye test. Later I learnt I scored 19/20, from the female agent with those deep eyes. On getting my results, we made a swift and silent exit.

Bloody computers went down at the DMV today, so I couldn't get my card I certainly don't want a episode 4.
